On Wednesday, August 27th, we proudly celebrated the official opening of our new Innovation Lab and Pilot Factory — a milestone that marks an important step in strengthening Seagems’ commitment to innovation, collaboration, and sustainable growth.

We were honored to welcome distinguished guests, partners, and friends, including Håkon Lykkebø Strand, the Mayor of Ålesund kommune, as well as Runar Debess and Linda Vedde from Sparebanken Møre, Kaare Haahjem from Eksfin - Export Finance Norway, Wenche Uksnøy from NCE Blue Legasea, Agnes Christine Gundersen from Møreforsking, Arthur Almestad from The Research Council of Norway, Richard Glavee-Geo from NTNU i Ålesund, Kristian Voksøy Steinsvik, Robert Wolff and Jannicke Fugledal Remme from SINTEF, Ingvill Stene Kjerstad from Innovation Norway, Elisabeth Maråk Støle and Jan-Emil Johannessen, Chairman of the Board at Seagems Norway.

👷‍♂️ Our visitors were taken on a guided tour through our facilities — from the main factory to the brand-new Innovation Lab and Pilot Factory — giving them a firsthand look at how we bring science, technology, and industry together to create value.

🍴 A highlight of the day was the opportunity to experience our marine ingredients in action. Our R&D department prepared a variety of products in the new facilities — from soups, cream cheese, mayonnaise, potato chips, various snacks applications, and more — showcasing how our ingredients can enhance taste and functionality in diverse applications for our global food production customers.

💡 The day was filled with inspiring conversations, shared visions, and a shared excitement for the opportunities ahead. This facility will serve as a platform for testing, learning, and scaling innovative solutions in collaboration with our customers — helping us bridge the gap between research, development, and commercial impact.
